Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1937, Elizabeth was raised during the time when the signs outside the Atlanta Zoo read "No Dogs or Coloreds". Her first artistic expression came as a child sculpting human figures in rich, red Georgia clay in her Mother's back yard. Her urge for art had to take a back seat while she raised her family of seven children in Chicago.
Elizabeth now devotes her energy to art on a full-time basis. She follows her bliss at Sage Woman Creations, her home studio in Bay View (Milwaukee, WI). The studio contains examples of her clay sculpture, cast and fabricated jewelry, acrylic paintings, carved walking sticks and ornamented and carved gourds. Her work is an extension of her spirituality and expresses her love and deep appreciation of life.
Each work of art is unique and awaits connection with just the right owner. Her jewelry, gourds and sculptures are held in private collections in France, Greece, United Kingdom as well as across the United States.
Having lost her husband over twenty years ago to colon cancer, Elizabeth has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is currently recouping from surgery. In efforts to Help Fight Cancer, Sage Woman Creations will donate a percentage of its sales to support lifesaving efforts that advance the fight against cancer to the American Cancer Society giving 10% of the net proceeds from items purchased through this website.
